In the morning of March 11, 2024, the price of bitcoin set a new historical maximum at a mark above $70 500. Against this background, the volume of liquidations on futures in the cryptocurrency market amounted to more than $330 million in 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, the positions of 115,627 traders were liquidated. Approximately $225 million of losses were on long positions, almost $109 million – on shorts.
The majority of liquidations occurred on trading pairs with bitcoin – $96.49 million and Ethereum – $54.50 million.
The largest amounts of liquidations were traditionally on cryptocurrency exchanges Binance and OKX – $124.57 million and $124.65 million, respectively.
Note, the largest liquidation of $8.8 million was recorded on the crypto exchange Bybit in the trading pair BTC / USD.
