Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has invested $100 million in the EigenLayer restacking protocol. This is reported by Bloomberg.
EigenLayer founder Sriram Kannan said Andreessen Horowitz was the sole participant in the funding round. He also declined to disclose the company’s valuation after receiving the new capital.
Ali Yahya, general partner of a16z, stated that the restacking protocol is an important player in the crypto industry. He added:
“EigenLayer will enable new kinds of applications. People will invest capital to reap the rewards of the solutions that will emerge from the protocol.”
To recall, earlier TVL EigenLayer crossed the $7 billion mark. The growth came after the removal of the 200,000 ETH asset limit for each pool in the restaking.
