On February 19, 2024, another hearing was held in the lawsuit of the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA) organization against programmer Craig Wright. During the process, one of the defense witnesses had to justify himself for his previous statement.
It is about the CEO of the nChain company Stefan Matthews. During the questioning, the prosecution presented his message dated January 2024:
M: known CSW for a long time [drivel].
C: [shows transcript from CAH convo].
M: don’t know what that …. oh, i know, this is a recording in spain. it isn’t verified, it is cut together.
C: [shows docs] heading to a train wreck, did you say that?

In it, he stated that “everything is headed for disaster.” According to Matthews, it was about preparing for the process. He insisted that he did not believe Wright was a “fake.”
The accuser also produced several other denunciatory messages. In them, Matthews is angered by Wright’s behavior. The witness said this was a free interpretation of the context.
Other experts brought by the self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto to the trial noted that the latter has not presented any conclusive evidence of his authorship.
One of them – David Bridges – admitted to having no knowledge of cryptoassets. The other turned out to be the defendant’s cousin.
This trial began on February 5, 2024. The purpose of the COPA lawsuit is to prohibit Wright from ever publicly claiming that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.
The proceedings are not working out in Wright’s favor. He has been accused of forgery, with the programmer himself confusing testimony and allegations.
Wright’s sister, involved as a witness, stated that she saw him in a ninja costume. In her opinion, this proves his words.
