we’ve raised a Series A to accelerate crypto development at @heliuslabs!

in mid-2022, my co-founders (@liamvovk and @nick_pennie) and I left Coinbase & AWS to make a dent on a big problem facing crypto:

Developer-centric platform Solana has received funding from venture capital funds Chapter One, 6th Man Ventures, Reciprocal Ventures and Propel Ventures. The investment round was led by Foundation Capital.

Project Helius focuses on building tools that allow developers to easily and quickly build apps on Solana. The company was founded in 2022 by former Coinbase and Amazon Web Services engineers.

Note that in October 2022, the project had already raised funds from Alchemy, Solana Ventures, Big Brain Holdings and other organizations. Then Helius managed to raise $3.1 million, according to Cryptorank.

According to the team’s announcement, Foundation Capital general partner Steve Vassallo will join Helius’ board of directors. The raised capital will be used to expand its 14-employee staff and strengthen its technology stack.

“During the year, we plan to implement a number of important upgrades. First of all, we intend to release a new RPC client and connect thousands of developers and various organizations to Solana,” said Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz.

According to the report, the number of Solana developers has grown to more than 2,500 in 2023. We also reported that at the end of December, the number of active addresses on the Solana network exceeded 15.6 million.
