The queue to install nodes on the Ethereum network grew to its highest since October 6, 2023. On February 12, 2024, 7,045 validators were waiting to come online.
The time to add a validator has increased to around 48 hours at the time of writing, at the peak we had to wait over 45 days.
David Lowant, head of research at exchange FalconX, told CoinDesk that “the increase in steaking activity on Ethereum indicates the first signs of viability being restored.”
Note that the number of active validators on the network has been steadily increasing. At the time of writing, the figure is 936,838.
Recall that in October 2023, we reported that the validator queue for startup validators on the Ethereum network had fallen to a historic low.
